abstract |
The invention relates to a preparation process for water-resistant binders in stable aqueous dispersion by emulsion polymerization by a feed process. Acrylic and vinyl monomers are polymerized together in a conventional manner. The co-ordinated use of ionic and nonionic surfactant, the manner of adding the latter and a Ph value adjustment result in dispersions with high electrolyte stability, which allows the production of waterproof films. The polymer dispersions can be safely processed into paints that are characterized by high weather resistance. |
