abstract The invention relates to a method for the early diagnosis of muscle tissue development of mammals, especially farm animals. The method is applicable in animal production, in particular in large animal breeding. The aim of the invention is to develop a routinely applicable and reliable test for the early diagnosis of mammalian muscle tissue development. According to the invention, in the early postnatal age (bulls 120th +/- 30th day of life, boar 45th +/- 10th day of life), 0.5-1 g of muscle mass is taken, from which a cellular juice fraction is recovered and the stimulating activity of this fraction on the protein synthesis rate in the Cell-free polysome system measured. The method is reliable in prediction with a certainty of 0.8 +/- 0.15.
