titleOfInvention OXYGENIC MASSES BASED ON MERCOTO-ORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND THEIR USE IN THE MANUFACTURE OF HIGH-THERMOLE-CULINARY PRODUCTS
abstract Oxygen-hardenable compositions based on mercapto-functional organic compounds which are stable in the absence of oxygen and which have been formed by mixing the following ingredients in the practical absence of oxygen (A) 100 parts by weight of at least one mercapto-functional organic compound containing on average at least two mercapto groups per molecule , (B) 0 to 200 parts by weight of a filler and (C) a catalytic amount of a metal carbonyl selected from the group Fe (CO) deep 5, Fe deep 2 (CO) deep 12, dicyclopentadienyldieisentetracarbonyl, butadiene-iron tricarbonyl, cyclohexadiene-iron tricarbonyl, Ni (CO) deep 4 , Dicyclopentadienyldinickeldicarbonyl, mn teif 2 (CO) deep 10, methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl and the like. Cyclopentadienylcobaltsicarbonyl, preferably in an amount of 0.1 to 6 parts by weight of an iron carbonyl per 100 parts by weight of the component (A). The above masses polymerize or harden when exposed to oxygen. In increments of up to 3 mm, these compositions polymerize or cure at room temperature within a reasonable period of time to form high molecular weight products suitable as coatings, impregulations or elastomeric seals.
