titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF O-HALOGENALKYL-2-HALOGENACETANILID DERIVATIVES |
abstract | The invention relates to processes for the preparation of novel o-haloalkyl-2-haloacetanilide compounds. The object of the invention was to find processes for the preparation of useful intermediates for the preparation of N-substituted 2 ', 6'-disubstituted 2-haloacetanilide derivatives which selectively control undesirable vegetation in agricultural crops. This object has been achieved satisfactorily by the process according to the invention in which the desired o-haloalkyl-2-haloacetanilide derivatives are obtained from suitable starting compounds by treatment with a halogenating agent such as molecular chlorine, bromine or N-bromosuccinimide with simultaneous exposure to UV light. Light or a light source for white light synthesized and obtained in the usual way. |
