abstract The invention relates to new agents with long-term effect for the control of harmful and undesirable organisms in natural and artificial waters. The compositions according to the invention are suitable for controlling algae, bacteria, fungi and snails, which are pathogens of diseases, intermediate hosts for schistosomes and other parasites and the cause of production disturbances and quality defects. The essence of the invention consists in the use of previously unused for this purpose homo- and copolymers of vinyl chloride, especially PVC, with addition of 15 to 30% dissolved in the polymer, 0.5 to 20%, preferably 2 to 15% water-soluble Substances which bring about a combination of swelling and dissolution processes of the long-lasting active ingredient of 1 to 20%, preferably 2 to 10%, of organotin active ingredients, it being possible to add from 0.5 to 5%, preferably 2 to 5%, combination active ingredients.
