titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR PREPARING 6-HYDROXY-7-NORIBLEBERELLINES
abstract It is the object of the invention to first develop a process for the preparation of 6-hydroxy-7-norgibberellins in order to obtain gibberellin derivatives with altered biological activity. According to the invention, a gibberellin or gibberellin derivative having a 6-functional carboxyl group, if appropriate after protection of the other functional groups in an anhydrous organic solvent, optionally in the presence of bases and optionally under the action of ultraviolet radiation with lead acetate, is converted into the corresponding 6-acetoxy-7-norgibberellin and this is subsequently deacetylated to 6-hydroxy-7-norgibbellin. By-products are 6-phenyl-7-norgibberellins and 7-norgibberellins.
