abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of pyrimidones of the general formula II, in which the radicals Het 1, Υ, z, A, R and r 1 have the meanings given in the invention. These compounds are drugs that act as histamine H-j and histamine H antagonists and have reduced toxicity. The compounds can be used in the control of histamine-induced excessive gastric acid secretion, inflammation, and histamine-induced blood pressure effects. Formula II
