titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF 2-MERCAPTOBENZTHIAZOLE |
abstract | These compounds are valuable vulcanization accelerators. The aim is to provide a simple and economical process that gives good yields without catalysts at relatively low pressures in shorter reaction times. According to the invention, nitrobenzene or nitrosobenzene, hydrogen sulfide and carbon disulfide are optionally reacted together under pressure, the nitrobenzene / nitrosobenzene / hydrogen sulfide molar ratio being 1: 3 to 1: 6 and 1: 1.5, respectively to 1: 4, the nitrobenzene / nitrosobenzene / carbon disulfide molar ratio 1: 1 to. 1: 3 and the final temperature in the reaction is at least 200 to 300 0C. The reaction is first carried out at temperatures of 150 to 170 0C and then from 200 to 250 0C. The reaction is carried out in particular under the egg-pressure of the reactants. At the final temperature, the reaction pressure is 15 to 65 bar. |
