abstract | The thermoplastic vulcanizate composition comprises 20 to 85nparts by weight of rubber and 15 to 80 parts by weightnsemi-crystalline polypropylene and statisticaln% propylene copolymer based on 100 wtnparts of the composition, wherein the semicrystalline weight rationpolypropylene to the static propylene copolymer isn100: 2 to 100: 400 and a random propylene copolymern% contains from 80 to 95 wt. propylene units and 5 to 20%nwt. units of at least one other unsaturatednolefin monomer having 2 or 4 to 12 carbon atoms.nThe method of preparing the composition comprises mixing the individualnrubber components, semi-crystalline polypropylene andnrandom propylene copolymer in any ordernand dynamic vulcanization. Products made ofnthe thermoplastic vulcanizate exhibit greater extensibility. |
