titleOfInvention | Catalyst and olefin polymerization catalyst |
abstract | A catalyst component for the polymerisation of olefins comprising a porous metal oxide, on which a Mg dihalide and a Ti halide or Ti halogen alcoholate, and an electron-donor cpd. contg. 2 or more ether gps. are supported. The electron donor cpd. being capable of complexing with anhydrous MgCl2, in not more than 60 mmoles per 100 g MgCl2 and being unreactive with TiCl4 to give substitution reactions, or being capable of reacting in this manner for less than 50% in moles. The Ti halide is TiCl4, the Mg dihalide is MgCl2. The molar ratio Mg/Ti is 0.5:1-10:1, and the molar ratio Ti/electron donor cpd. is 0.5:1-3:1. The metal oxide is present in greater than 40 wt.%. Also claimed is a catalyst for the polymsn. of olefins comprising the catalyst component and an Al-alkyl cpd. e.g. an Al-trialkyl cpd. |
