titleOfInvention | Austenitic nickel-molybdenum alloy |
abstract | The invention relates to an austenitic nickel-molybdenum alloy of outstanding corrosion resistance in reducing media and excellent thermal stability in the temperature range between 650 and 950 DEG C, characterized by the composition (content in % by mass): Molybdenum 26.0 to 30.0% Iron 1.0 to 7.0% Chromium 0.4 to 1.5% Manganese to 1.5% Silicon to 0.05% Cobalt to 2.5% Phosphorus to 0.04% Sulphur to 0.01% Aluminium 0.1 to 0.5% Magnesium to 0.1% Copper to 1.0% Carbon to 0.01% Nitrogen to 0.01% the remainder being nickel and usual impurities resulting from smelting, the total of the contents of interstitially dissolved elements (carbon + nitrogen) being limited to a maximum of 0.015% and the total of the elements (aluminium + magnesium) having been adjusted within the limits 0.15 to 0.40%. The alloy is particularly suitable as a material for components of chemical plant, which require particular resistance to reducing media such as hydrochloric acid, gaseous hydrogen chloride, sulphuric acid, acetic acid and phosphoric acid. |
