titleOfInvention Process and apparatus for recovering solid substances containing fats and/or proteins from liquid substances containing fat, particularly from slaughterhouse sludges and/or from slaughterhouse waste water
abstract According to the process the liquid material, e.g. the deposit, is homogenized and heated to a temperature of 30-60 DEG C. The heated liquid material is made to flow at an overpressure of 2-4 bar, and, by immediately introducing steam into the liquid material at a temperature of 130-151 DEG C and a pressure of 1-3 bar, its temperature is raised to about 130-150 DEG C in the space of about 1-2 seconds, leading to the formation of granules in the deposit. The liquid material is kept flowing while maintaining its pressure and elevated temperature for a period of about 60-300 seconds. After this, the fluid material is allowed to expand adiabatically by reducing its pressure to about 0.01-0.02 bar during a period of 1-2 seconds. The expanded liquid material is then separated into water, fat which contains water and solid impurities, as well as into a humid protein-containing phase. The installation is characterized in that it is equipped with means for heating up the liquid material, as well as a pipe-line (18) for conveying onwards the heated liquid material, said pipe-line being connected to the heater unit (5), into which opens the steam pipe-line (20). Extending from the heater unit (5) is a pipe-line (19), into which is incorporated an expansion valve (6), connected to a pipe-line (22) leading into the separation tank (7). The installation is provided with equipment for separating the liquid water emerging from the separation tank (7) into aqueous, fat and solid phases.
