A semi-hard polyurethane foam (I) having a density of 60.1-2000 kg/m<3> is prepared by reaction of (A) a polyisocyanurate component having an NCO content of 30-47 % containing a toluylene diisocyanurate (TDI) with a biuret structure and an NCO value of 33-47 wt.% (B) a polyetherpolyol component having an average mol. wt. of 1,000-12,000; a functionality ≥ 2 and optionally a solids content of ≤ 50 pts.wt. (C) a total water content of 0.5-8 pts.wt. (w.r.t. 100 pts. wt. of components (B)-(F)). (D) optionally consists of a further polyol component having an average mol. wt. of 62-1000 and a functionality ≥ 2. (E) optionally other known processing aids, additives and flame retardants and (F) optionally other propellants under retention of an NCO number of 30-180, with respect to the ratio of (A) to the sum of (B)-(E) in an open or closed mold. An Independent claim is included for a composite moulded article comprising an outer skin of a flexible polymeric or natural product over a semi-hardpolyurethanee foam (I) supported on a polymeric, metallic or wooden material. |
