PrRP31, PrRP20, C14 and C16 fatty acid neuropeptides and their analogs whose C-terminal sequence IRPVGRF-NH2 can be altered in place of phenalalanine; the fatty acid is attached at position 1 or 11 in the case of PrRP31 or its analogue, in position 1 or 7 in the case of PrRP20 or its analogue; the bond comprises an amide bond between an amino acid having at least one free NH 2 group and a fatty acid carboxyl group and alternatively comprises a bond via the X-2 arm, which is γ-glutamic acid, for use after peripheral administration to treat and prevent conditions which are Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, non-dementia cognition impairment, brain trauma and neurodegenerative changes and disorders. |
