abstract | The invention relates to a composition for extending the quality parameters of fruit, especially apples, based on thyme extract, which is characterized in that it contains an inorganic carrier selected from the group of zeolites, metal oxides, hydrated metal oxides or an organic carrier from the group of papers, activated carbon, synthetic polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide, polyurethane, plant extract or essential oils containing substances extending the quality parameters of fruit, from the group comprising thyme, especially thyme Thymus vulgaris L. from the family Lamiaceae - daffodil thyme in ethanol in a weight ratio of thyme to solvent of 1:10, resp. thyme essential oil, preparable by mixing 3 wt. parts of thyme essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation and 7 wt. parts of pure acetone and, if appropriate, an excipient. The invention further relates to a process for the production of a composition extending the quality parameters of fruit, which is characterized in that an inorganic or organic carrier absorbs a plant extract or essential oil and the formed solid composition is fixed between stored fruits placed in containers. |
