abstract The present invention provides a pharmaceutical formulation comprising an oxime capable of reactivating organophosphate-inhibited acetylcholinesterase, and cucurbit [7] uril. This pharmaceutical combination enhances the permeation of the oxime across the hermetic barrier without the need to interfere with its structure, i.e., without reducing efficacy. Further, the absolute bioavailability of the oxime is significantly increased. The present invention further provides a method of preparing such a pharmaceutical composition and its use in treating poisoning caused by organophosphorus inhibitors.
