abstract It is an object of the present invention to provide a dry process for producing pyrotechnic articles from at least one reducing agent selected from guanidine derivatives, metal hydrides, alkali metal and alkaline earth metal hydrides, and at least one oxidizing agent selected from alkali metal nitrates, alkaline earth nitrates and basic metal nitrates wherein at least one of said reducing and oxidizing additives has a flowability under pressure. This method allows the tablets and beads to be directly obtained by dry blending, dry compacting and subsequent dry granulation of the compacted mixture.
