titleOfInvention Flow electrochemical device
abstract The flow-through electrochemical cell provides an alternative to separation methods, preceded by mass spectrometry to determine / detect and study primarily organic matter. Electrochemically generated ions of substances entering the electrochemical cell, generated by their oxidation or reduction or electrochemically generated ions from the electrode material, form adducts with the substances contained in the sample matrix, are then quantitatively or qualitatively analyzed using a mass spectrometer. The mentioned electrochemical activations can also be used for substances that are otherwise undetectable due to their properties in the mass spectrometer. Thanks to the exchangeable working electrode system, serial laboratory applications are possible. Alternatively, this cell can be used for specific purposes of basic research, where easy manipulation and the possibility of alternative replacement of working electrodes (different electrodes can be selected, eg Cu, Ag and Au) allows the electrochemical system to be further modified.
