titleOfInvention | Flocculant, the method of its preparation and its use |
abstract | The solution relates to a flocculant containing at least one humic acid to which at least one reactive dye is chemisorbed. Further, the invention relates to a process for the preparation of this flocculant, wherein sodium or potassium salt is added to the water containing at least one reactive dye, at least one humic acid, the pH is adjusted to 9 or higher, the mixture is tempered to a temperature in the range of 80 to 100. for a period of at least 1 hour, the mixture is then cooled to less than 40 degC and the pH is adjusted to less than 2.5, then flocculation of the resulting precipitate is carried out at a pH of less than 2.5 by further cooling the mixture to a temperature of less than 30 degC with continuous stirring, and then the resulting precipitate of humic acid with chemisorption bound by at least one reactive dye is isolated by filtration. The method of flocculant preparation is also an effective way of cleaning waste water from the production and use of reactive dyes. Further, the invention relates to the use of a flocculant to remove cation from acidic water. |
