The present invention relates to the preparation and modification of a hyaluronic acid derivative with an aldehyde group at position 6 of the glucosamine moiety of the polysaccharide. Oxidation of hyaluronic acid can be accomplished using Dess-Martin periodinane (DMP). The prepared aldehyde, which is in water in the form of a geminal diol, can be used to bind the amine, diamine, amino acids, peptide, and other amino-containing compounds, e.g., by reductive amination with NaBH 3 in water or water. -organic solvent. In the case of the use of diamine or compounds containing three or more amino groups, cross-linked hyaluronan derivatives can be prepared. Cross-linked derivatives can also be prepared by reacting an aldehyde with a hyaluronan-substituted aminoalkyl group of HA-alkyl-NH2. |
