titleOfInvention Elastic element for coupling means of flexible shaft and coupling means
abstract The invention relates to an elastic shaft coupling means (40) having a resilient element (42) formed by a sleeve-shaped body (44) and connecting two substantially rigid end pieces (41, 43) for connection to the flexible shaft, wherein the body (44) in the form of a sleeve formed of an elastomeric compound and having two opposite end portions separated from each other by a central annular portion (46) and forming coupling receiving portions (48, 50), i.e. end pieces (41, 43), each receiving portion (48, 50) comprises a plurality of axially extending teeth (56) disposed along at least a portion of the inner circumference (52) so that each tooth (56) of each receiving portion (48, 50) has a circumferential width (65) spanning a portion of the inner circumference (52) part of the inner circumference (52) of the sleeve-shaped body (44) is connected to one textile reinforcement element and a helically wound tensile cord so that the torsional shear resistance of the annular part (46) is less than the accumulated shear tooth capacity given by the sum of the shear surfaces of the tooth (56) formed by the product of their circumferential width (65) and the active axial length. In particular, the present invention relates to a resilient element (42) for the coupling means (40) of the resilient shaft.
