titleOfInvention | An electrically conductive connection of a ceramic element with a metal end, a ceramic igniter including such a connection and a method of making the connection |
abstract | The electrical connection for the ceramic glowing surface, in particular the ceramic spark plugs, comprises an electrical conductive ceramic body with a first end (1) with which the electrically conductive braze (7) of the active metal contacts the metallic end of the chemical bond. The solderless ceramic igniter consists of an electrically conductive ceramic body with two cold ends (1) and a resistive zone therebetween and a pair of ends, which consist of a housing (56) with a first end (88) and a second end (89), whereby the cold ends ( 1) of the ceramic body are retained permanently in the first ends (88) of the metal end sleeves (56) and are electrically connected thereto. The candle then has a pair of metal risers that are in electrically conductive contact with both the respective ceramic end and the end, whose sleeve (56) has an annulus bounding the transverse hole (9) in which the metal boss is in contact with the end (1) of the ceramic body engaged in the housing (56) with which the annulus also contacts. The method of forming the metal end of the ceramic spark plug consists in forming a sleeve (56) with an inner surface corresponding to the outer surface of the ceramic body end (1), the ends (1) being inserted into the sleeves (56) and the inner surface of the sleeve (56) is chemically coupled to the exterior surface of each leg and intermediate end (1), respectively. |
