titleOfInvention | Non-fluorescent phthalocyanine and azaphthalocyanine derivatives as fluorescence quenchers |
abstract | The use of phthalocyanine, naphthalocyanine, combined phthalo / naphthalocyanine and their analogue of formula I, wherein the individual substituents are of particular interest, to quench fluorescence upon binding to a biomolecule, except in-vivo quenching where the biomolecule can be a nucleic acid or a peptide that can be conjugated to a fluorophore. Applying the above for detecting, quantifying fluorescently active molecules in a sample of a biological sample or tissue. The azaphthalocyanines, azanaphthalocyanines and combined azaphthalocyananaphthalocyanines of the general formula II, where the individual substituents are of particular importance, use them to quench fluorescence upon binding to a biomolecule, in addition to quenching in-vivo fluorescence, wherein the biomolecule can be a nucleic acid or a peptide that can be conjugated to a fluorophore, and for detecting, quantifying the fluorescently active molecules in a sample of a biological sample of material or tissue, as well as a kit wherein the compound of Formula II is bound to a specific DNA / RNA sequence. |
