titleOfInvention A method of modifying the handling properties of heptahydrated ferrous sulfate, particularly reducing its hygroscopic properties
abstract The present invention relates to a method of modifying the handling properties of heptahydrated ferrous sulfate, in particular to reducing its hygroscopic properties, wherein a homogeneous mixture containing 25 to 90 wt. % of heptahydrated ferrous sulfate and up to 100 wt. calcium sulfate hemihydrate during subsequent deposition for a time delay of 12 hours to 84 hours, the free water from the heptahydrated ferrous sulfate binds as crystalline water in the calcium sulfate hemihydrate, forming a final mixture which is milled to the desired fineness.
