The use of 3- (1H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl) indan-5-ol, its enantiomer or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, as active ingredient, for the manufacture of a medicament for achieving analgesia or assistance in achieving anesthesia in a mammal by intraspinal administration. The analgesic effect of this drug is not accompanied by a sedative effect. |
