abstract | The solution is a water vapor barrier (15) comprising a first water impermeable membrane (19) having a plurality of through holes (21) and a second water impermeable membrane (22) positioned opposite the first membrane (19). The water-absorbing material (18) is located in one or more spaces defined between the first and second membranes (19, 22), wherein at least a portion of the second membrane (22) is made of a material having a water vapor diffusion resistance that varies depending on the relative humidity of the air with which it is in contact so that the resistance to vapor diffusion decreases when the relative humidity rises, and vice versa. The invention further relates to a method of producing a water vapor barrier. |
