titleOfInvention | high-octane low-boiling gasoline component |
abstract | A high-octane low-boiling gasoline component, which originates from a product of thermic or catalytic breakdown of a hydrocarbon mixture. The component is characterised by the fact that it contains C4 to C6 paraffin and non-paraffin hydrocarbons with a ratio between C4, C5 and C6 in a range of 5 - 35 : 93 - 50 : 2 - 15 % by weight, whereas present in the C4-fraction are n-butane and butenes-2, in the C5-fraction cyclical types of hydrocarbon and in the C6-fraction of the acyclical type, boiling before benzene. The compound is achieved by a combination of rectification and "cold" selective hydrogenation, thus the compound contains unstable dienes, possibly acetylenes and benzenes at a max. of 1 %, preferably 0.1 % by weight. The compound is significant thanks to the high mixed octane numbers and appropriate steam pressures. The low density allows reduction of the density of petrol and heightened volume of production. |
