abstract | A process for preparing a polymer network, wherein (i) a derivatized polymer is prepared by reacting a polymer containing at least one functional group comprising an OH group, an amino group, a SH group, an OSO.sub.3.nH group, a SO.sub.3.nH group, an OPO.sub .3.nHsub.2.n. group, OPO.sub.3.nh.sub.11.n. group, PO.sub.3.n.H.sub.2.n. group, PO.sub.3. a COOH group with at least one activating agent or activating agent derivative in a homogeneous and / or heterogeneous phase; (ii) the derivatized polymer from step (i) is crosslinked; (iii) conforming the crosslinked derivatized polymer of step ii to at least one template compound by interacting the polymer with the template compound to form at least one preferred conformation of the polymer, the template compound being a chemical compound or biological structure. This polymer network and its use in separation processes of materials, process of substance conversion, substance preparation procedures, substance resolution procedures, or signal detection. |
