| abstract | The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for rectal or vaginal administration comprising a platinum complex compound of formula I wherein A, independently of one another, is -NH.sub.3. or an amino group containing 1 to 18 carbon atoms, B independently of one another means a halogen atom or a hydroxyl group or a COOR group, wherein R independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkylamino or alkoxy group having 1 to 10 atoms carbon or functional derivatives of said groups, and X independently of one another is a halogen atom or a monocarboxylate group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or X together form a dicarboxylate group of 2 to 20 carbon atoms, and a hydrophilic gel forming base formed by gelatin, water and glycerol. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of this composition, wherein the active ingredient is mixed into a warmed-up hydrophilic gel-forming base formed by gelatin, water and glycerol, and the resulting composition is shaped as well as the composition for use as a medicament for treating cancer. |
