Substituted 1-naphthoylguanidines of the general formula I are described in which R.sup.2 is 2. and R.sup.8.n. As described herein, they are useful as antiarrhythmic agents with a cardioprotective component for the prophylaxis of infarction and 1b infarction, as well as for angina pectoris. It prevents preventive pathophysiological processes in the event of ischemic damage, especially in the case of cardiac arrhythmias caused by sciatica. The following is a description of how to formulate compounds of formula I by reacting a compound of formula II wherein L is a slightly nucleophilically substituted leaving group and the other substituents are referred to as guanidine, using the compounds mentioned above. production of aliva with their contents. \ t |
