titleOfInvention | A way to reduce air pollution |
abstract | A method for reducing atmospheric pollution caused by impurities selected from the group consisting of carbon dioxide CO 2, SO 2 SO 2. and mixtures thereof contained in industrial gases which are discharged into the atmosphere by the fact that carbon dioxide is dissolved in the atmosphere. converts to calcium carbonate and sulfur dioxide SO.sub.2. is converted to calcium sulphite using commercially available calcium salts by reacting the respective gas containing impurities prior to its release into the alkaline base and aqueous solution, where the impurities react with the base and pass into solution and the thus treated gas it is discharged into the atmosphere, has a reduced impurity content, and then a solution containing impurities with the reagent containing the calcium salt is reacted to form insoluble calcium carbonate and a commercially useful salt consisting of the anion of said calcium salt and an alkaline base cation. |
