The compound of formula (I) in which Q is hydrocarbylene having 1 and 8 carbon atoms, R is hydrogen, trifluoromethyl or hydrocarbyl with 1 and 6 carbon atoms, or two R groups together with the carbon atom to the carrying hydroxy group may form a carbocyclic ring with 3 and 8 carbon atoms. These compounds exhibit anti-inflammatory and immunomodulaal effects as well as distinct activity in inducing differentiation and inhibiting certain cell proliferation. |
