There is a need to modulate calcium channels in vascular and cardiac tissue, ie use the compound of formula I. This method of modulation, increasing the density of calcium channels in the vascular and cardiac tissue without alteration of inotropic or pressure responses includes, in addition to pharmaceutically acceptable amounts of the compounds of formula (I), wherein the moieties of R 1 are. and R.sup.3.n. implying a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having one carbon atom, -CO-Alk, wherein Alk is an alkyl group having one or more carbon atoms, -CH 2. Ar or -CO-Ar, wherein Ar is phenyl or substituted phenyl; group R.sup.2.n. is selected from the group consisting of pyrrolidine, hexamethylenimino and piperidino; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. |
