abstract | In the present invention there is disclosed a process for preparing olefin polymers and copolymers of the general formula I {CHi2=CHR}, in which R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or aryl group containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms. The process is carried out in the presence of a catalyst containing a reaction product Al-trialkyl compound and a solid catalytic component containing a titanium compound, containing at least one titanium-halogen bond, being applied to anhydrous magnesium chloride as a carrier, whereby this component is present in the form of spherical particles with average diameter ranging from 10 to 350 micrometers, surface area in the range of 20 to 250 me2/gram and porosity greater than 0.2 cme3/gram, whereby in X-ray spectrum thereof there are present (a) reflections at an angle 2 theta = 35 degrees and 2 theta = 14.95 degrees, or (b) if no reflection is present at the angle 2 theta = 35 degrees, whereby it is replaced by a halogen with maximum intensity within the range of angles 2 theta = 33.5 degrees to 35 degrees, whereby no reflection is present at angle 2 theta = 14.95 degrees. In the present invention there is also claimed a polymer or copolymer of these olefins, that is in the form of spherical particles with average diameter ranging from 50 to 5000 micrometers, and which is obtained by this preparation process. |
