titleOfInvention | Catalyst and olefin polymerization catalyst |
abstract | An olefin polymerization catalyst component consisting of a porous metal oxide selected from the group consisting of silica, alumina and mixtures of these materials coated with magnesium chloride and titanium tetrachloride or titanium chloroalcolate, and an electron donor compound containing two or more ether groups wherein said electron donor compound is capable of complexing with anhydrous magnesium chloride in an amount of at most 60 mmol per 100 grams of magnesium chloride and is non-reactive with TiCl4. to produce substitution reactions, or is capable of reacting in this manner to less than 50 mol%. The invention also includes a catalyst consisting of the reaction product of this catalyst component and an alkyl aluminum compound. |
