titleOfInvention | Carbonylation process of allylic butenols and esters thereof |
abstract | In the present invention there is described carbonylation process of allylic butenols and/or esters thereof with carboxylic acids by making use of carbon monoxide. The invented carbonylation process is characterized substantially by reacting carbon monoxide with at least one of the indicated allylic butenols and esters with carboxylic acids at elevated temperature under pressure being higher than atmospheric and in the presence of an iridium catalyst and a promoter containing iodine or bromine, whereby molar ratio promoter/iridium is within the range of 0.1 : 1 to 20 : 1. The process according to the present invention makes it possible to prepare pentenoic acids, particularly 3-penteoic acid that provides by hydroxycarbonylation and by making use of carbon monoxide and water adipic acid. |
