titleOfInvention New mutant strain of Aspergillus terreus and method of fermentation of lovastatin
abstract Conventional mutagenesis procedures have been developed to obtain a new strain of Aspergillus terreus CCM 8236. The process of aerobic fermentation of lovastatin by Aspergillus terreus strain CCM 8236 in acid form in a laboratory scale submerged culture is described. Inoculum preparation takes place in low pH soil. As a carbon source, a mixture of glucose and lactose (1:22 ratio) is used in the production soil at high concentration and as a nitrogen source for Pharmamedia. On such a soil, the strain produces more than 2000 mg / L of lovastatin in 170 hours
