titleOfInvention | Quinoline and naphryridine derivatives and antibacterial agents based thereon |
abstract | The quinoline and naphthyridine derivatives of formula I wherein A is CH, CF or N; Y represents ethyl, cyclopropyl, 4-fluorophenyl or 2,4-difluorophenyl; or A and Y taken together represent O-CH.sub.2.n.-CH (CH.sub.3.n.) - C, CH.sub.2.n.-CH.sub.2.n. -CH (CH 3) - C or O-CH (CH 3) - NC; R.sub.1.n. represents hydrogen or methyl; and R.sub.2.n. represents hydrogen, 5-methyl-2,5-diazabicyclo [2.2.1] hept-2-yl, 8-methyl-3,8-diazabicyclo [3.2.2] non-4-yl; wherein if R.sub.2.n. represents a hydrogen atom, then A and Y together represent a group of the formula CH.sub.2.n.-CH.sub.2.n.-CH (CH.sub.3.n.) -C; and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof, provided that R.sub.2.n. is different from hydrogen. The invention further relates to an antibacterial composition based thereon. These derivatives, which contain a 3-carboxaldehyde group, are prodrugs which can be used for the treatment of bacterial infections, in particular in the form of injectables. As a specific example |
