abstract | This method of removing ions of heavy metals from aqueous solutions, in particular industrial and drinking water by the exchange of metals, is based on the fact that a water solution containing detrimental ions of heavy metals is affected by sulphide ions created by the gradual solution and dissociation of zinc sulphide and/or iron sulphide, the dissolubility of which is greater or equal to the dissolubility of the metal sulphides which are to be removed from the solution. The process of ion replacement is performed on a carrier consisting of a precipitate of metal sulphide with a higher dissolubility or organic or inorganic carrying materials impregnated by more dissoluble metal sulphides. |
