titleOfInvention A method for producing a synthetic hydrotalcite
abstract The proposed process for preparing synthetic hydrotalcite is based on precipitating reaction of magnesium sulfate and ammonium aluminium sulfate or aluminium sulfate solution in basic medium of sodium carbonate solution. The sulfate solution is successively introduced under vigorous stirring into sodium carbonate solution. Precipitating reaction proceeds at a temperature ranging from 10 to 100 degC at suspension pH in the range of 8.5 to 11. After reaction the product is let in the suspension to crystallize for a period up to 48 hours. Subsequently the suspension is filtered off; the product is washed and dried. In the same manner it is possible to prepare compounds of the hydrotalcite type containing transient metals in hydroxide layers.
