abstract The technical solution relates to the method of treating or preventing bone diseases in mammals, involving oral administration of pharmaceutically effective amount of ibandronate pharmaceutical substance or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in a dosage unit of 150 mg of acidic base in accordance with a dosage regime having a frequency of administration once a month. The technical solution also relates to the process of preparing a tablet comprising ibandronate as an active substance, which process comprises a direct compression. Rather, this part of submitted technical solution relates to the process of preparing a tablet comprising ibandronate as an active substance, wherein the process comprises the formation of a mixture of active substance with a filler, a binder and a disintegrant; lubricating the mixture with a lubricant; the compression of obtained lubricated mixture into a desired tablet form and coating the tablet.
