Stable aqueous antimicrobial dispersion, use of this dispersion, cosmetic emulsion and coating composition containing this dispersion |
abstract |
The stable aqueous antimicrobial dispersion of the present invention comprises a polymeric substrate consisting of a mixture of monomers based on acrylic and methacrylic acid derivatives having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the ester residue and monomers comprising a primary and / or secondary amine group, and an antimicrobial agent based on nanoparticles silver which is permanently fixed on the surface of the polymeric substrate by a co-ordinating covalent bond. A stable aqueous antimicrobial dispersion can be used as a preservative to protect against microbial attack of packaged water-soluble products. The stable aqueous antimicrobial dispersion is particularly suitable for protecting water-in-oil and oil-in-water cosmetic emulsions and for protecting acrylic aqueous coating systems. |
