titleOfInvention | Polarization independent optical packet switch |
abstract | The optical head separator (2) is optically unidirectionally connected to the header detection and recovery block (60) and to the optical cache (7). Optical packet control signal generator (5) includes at least two control signal sources (41; 42) operating in continuous or pulsed mode, optically unidirectionally connected, over at least two optical gates (51; 52) and at least two polarization controllers ( 61; 62), to an optical control signal combiner (6) and data portions of optical packets. Optical optical signal combiner (6) and data portions are unidirectionally optically coupled, via a switching segment (8) and an optical filter (91) to an output optical wavelength-selective member (9) with new optical headers connected from the detection block (60) and recovering the optical packet headers, leading to the outputs (i.e., 1, 2, 3) of the optical fibers. The switching segment (8) includes: an optical balance stage (81) for adjusting the desired level of optical signal that is unidirectionally optically coupled to the optical directional splitter (82) by the optical fiber; an optical direction divider (82) for transmitting optical signals and splitting optical signals into two polarization planes in the (x; y) direction is optically coupled optically to the optical polarization divider (83) by an optical fiber, and an optical polarization divider (83) serving also as a combiner, it is connected by an optical fiber in a loop to an optical non-linear module (84). The optical non-linear module (84) is formed from at least one highly non-linear optical fiber from the group consisting of, Ge (germanium) doped quartz optical fiber, chalcogenide optical fiber, bismuth optical fiber |
