abstract |
Preparation of prasugrel by a process using 3-cyclopropyl-1- (2-fluorophenyl) -3-oxopropyl methanesulfonate to alkylate 2-oxothienotetrahydropyridine, which may be in the form of a salt, for example with hydrochloric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid. The resulting compound of formula II is then acylated directly with the acetic anhydride in the reaction mixture without isolation and the resulting prasugrel of formula I is then crystallized directly from the reaction mixture. |
