Synthetic analogs of the peptides of formulas I and II wherein R 1 is n. is acyl, alkyl or free amino, R 5 is n. is an amide, a substituted amide, a free carboxyl or ester, Xaa is independently the amino acid coding, the amino acid of the D-series or the amino acid non-coding or the amino acids modified in the side chain, and n is the number of changes in the peptide chain and their use as antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, antiparasitic and anticancer compounds, which are therefore useful for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of microbial, viral, parasitic and fungal diseases and for the treatment of cancers. |
