titleOfInvention Process for preparing and stabilizing amorphous atorvastatin hemicalcium salt
abstract In the present invention, there is disclosed a process for preparing amorphous form of atorvastatin hemicalcium salt from arbitrary atorvastatin hemicalcium salt polymorphous modification, by melting thereof at a temperature ranging from 438 K to 483 K, in an inert gas atmosphere and with subsequent cooling at a rate of 10 to 100 K/min. The obtained amorphous form is then stabilized by melting thereof with 0.1 to 50 percent by weight of magnesium oxide.
