titleOfInvention | The use of oxygen absorbing substances for the manufacture of flexible tubes |
abstract | The invention concerns a metal tube, typically made of aluminium alloy, comprising a cylindrical or truncated skirt having one open end and another end linked to a dispensing head, the inner surface of said cylindrical skirt being covered, proximate to said open end, with an adhesive annular seal. The invention is characterised in that said adhesive seal comprises an oxygen absorbing agent which is released when the tube is finally sealed. To ensure that it is released only when the tube is finally sealed, the oxygen absorbing agent can be directly incorporated in the resin used for producing the seal, in a chemical form which remains passive as long as it is not contacted with the product to be packaged. The oxygen absorbing agent can also be simply comprised in an envelope or, preferably, in a large amount of microcapsules incorporated in said resin, said envelope or said microcapsules being destroyed after the tube is filled and/or sealed. |
