titleOfInvention | Three-zone biomass gasifier of plant origin with bypass |
abstract | In the present invention, there is disclosed production of dry low-caloric gas of biomass of vegetable origin that is free of undesirable components such as tar, ammonia, formic acid, acetic acid. Such a gas can be obtained by employing a three-zone gasifier having a bypass and in which three chambers (3, 4, 5) introduced in each other define zone interface. The chamber (3) defines by its bottom edge a zone where drying of a charge takes place, the chamber (4) defines by its bottom edge a zone where distillation takes place and the chamber (5) defines by its bottom edge a zone where reduction and combustion take place. The generated useful gas being free of undesirable components is withdrawn from the chamber (5) space. Advantage of the suggested gasifier is that the gaseous mixture being generated in the chamber (3) and the chamber (4) can be exhausted, introduced through a bypass into the chamber (5) to additional burn, and reduce thereof to desired components of the useful gas. An air injector (11) introduced in the bypass, where air functions as transport medium and at the same time oxygen source for gasification process, can be employed for the gas exhaustion. Vapors generated within a water-cooled jacket (6) can be also preferably employed for addition into the bypass to thereby achieving, in a limited extent, improvement of energy properties of the generated gas through enrichment thereof with hydrogen and methane. |
