abstract In the present invention, there is disclosed a method for removing moss species and lichens, particularly from roofs wherein the method comprises applying a solution of cupric or cuprous salt and stabilization of so applied salts by subsequent treatment thereof with a carbonate or hydrogen carbonate The obtained composition is water fast, resists to rain action and protects for a long term the roof treated surface. Disclosed is also a composition for making the above-described method, which composition consists of separated components of cupric or cuprous salt and carbonate or hydrogen carbonate.
