titleOfInvention A method for treating plastics contaminated with an infectious material and apparatus for carrying out the method
abstract The invented method is characterized in that plastic waste is first crushed under simultaneous addition of a disinfectant. Subsequently it is separated from residues of biological materials within a gas-tight crushing and flushing device at a temperature ranging from 5 degC to 80 degC. Then flushing with water takes place. The disinfectant is represented by a solution consisting of 0.1 to 60 percent by weight of a substance being selected from the group consisting of aldehyde, peroxide, amide chloride, hypochlorite or combinations thereof, and 40 to 99.9 percent by weight of water. In the present invention, there is further described an apparatus for carrying out the method wherein a gas-tight crusher (2) a drive gearbox (6) and a gas-tight mixer (5) are co-axially arranged wherein the common shaft (11) thereof forms with a horizontal plane an acute angle ({alpha}) wherein the tank (3) of the gas-tight crusher (2) is connected to said gas-tight mixer (5) through the mediation of a gas-tight channel (4), entering the tank (3) in a space of the crusher (2) tool bottom section that is immersed under the surface of said disinfectant.
